The House by the Sea

"For a second I thought I was looking at the bloody body of my wife. Then I saw it was the grey and bloody head of a very big fish. I felt sick and happy at the same time. Then I started to cry."  (p. 33)




     If your precious people vanish suddenly, what do you do? In my case, I suppose that I must try every possible method to find my important person.

     Carl Anderson who is a main character in this story  is worried about something and he looks unhappy because he experienced a strange event. Linda who is his wife disappeared suddenly even though he and she made a promise to meet at the house by the sea to stay at there and have a good time together. However, he couldn't connect with her and some strange and scary incidents happened around him. After that, he head a story about Tom Parker who is a mad man. Carl believed that he must kill Linda but is it true?

     This book is in the Cambridge English Readers series. It is a long story but you can enjoy the mystery of this book. I recommend you read this book as soon as possible!!

    You give us an intriguing subject that makes me want to read as soon as possible!! Thanks to your plain and logical synopsis, blowers can get the points of the story.
    I guess there is some complicated problem between the wife and Tom like affair or more serious things. I'll find the answer.

      I read the book named "Persuasion" written by Jane Austen. It is a love story but mixing with regret or despair feelings. Two main characters appear in the book and their name is Anne Eliot and William Wentworth. They love each other and also want to get married, but the marriage cannot come true. Wentworth has no enough money at that time, so Anne's family disagree with their marriage. Anne follows the opinions of those around her and she takes him leave.      Anne still love Wentworth and she regrets her decision of those days strongly although the time passes. However, they meet again after many years and his condition is different than before. He rises in life and have a lot of money. 9. The mill on the floss

     I read the book called "Mill on the floss". This work is written by George Eliot, one of a famous writer all over the world. The main character of this book is Maggie who is a very beautiful and intelligent girl. Tom who is Maggie's brother is also an important character in the story.      Throughout the story, Maggie is loved by two men, but those relationships do not go well. At first, one man is Philip. He is kind person, so Maggie and him fall in love each other. However, their fathers are rival relationship, so they cannot get married and they are not allowed to meet freely at the same time. The other person's name is Stephan. Although Maggie loves him, he is a boyfriend of her precious cousin. That is why, she gives up loving him.      After those her romance experiences, Maggie decides to live by herself without getting married with anyone. 8. The house on the hill

     I read the book named "The house on the hill". It is a love story but a little sad in the end. There are two main characters in this book. One person is Paul who is a poor boy living in a little brown house. The other person is Maria who is a rich girl living in a big white house on the hill.      One day, when Paul walked along the river, he met Marie. She was very beautiful, so he fall in love her and talked with her. As time passed, they were close to each other and at last they desided to get married. However, one problem was happened and as a result, Paul must leave Marie. He could not give up her, so he tried to become a writer and be in rich. After some years later, he fullfilled his long-held desire, but Marie's personality was differrent from the past...      If you read this book, you will be surprised at the ending and you can also think about the importance of considering about people's personality.
