(p. 11)      The main character of this book is Arthur Kipps who works in London as a solicitor and he tells his experiences in the story. One day, he had to attend a funeral instead of his boss and went to Eel Marsh House stuated in Yorkshire. The house was a dead woman's one and people did not get closer it because something strange occurrences happened around it. When he attended her funeral, he saw a woman who wears a black cloth that looked old-fashioned and her face was white and her eyes looked scary.
