The case of the lonely lady

' "Will you marry me and come back with us to Beckenham?' Nancy agreed. She was very happy. She was never going to be alone again." (p. 11)      If you come across someone who is very friendly and suit each other by chance, dou you tell everything to the person about you as soon as possible? In my case, I won't do that things because I want to become good friend little by little and built a nice relationship.      A woman called Nanncy Roberts is a main character of this book. She was born in India and when she was late 20's, she moved to England with her parents. After her parents died, she was lonely and live quitely. To make up for a solitary time, she dicided to go to a small hotel situated in Eastbourne and stay there during winter. While in there, she met two people called Isobel and Henry. They built a good relationship and especially, Nancy and Henry got married finally. After their marriage, Nancy was going to live with two people's house,

The Beautiful and Damned

"Gloria was beautiful. She was shining with beauty. Her golden hair shone like sunshine. Her eyes were grey and very cool."  (p. 9)      If you have a lot of money, do you work? I would be at work if I have stood on the same footing because doing something happier for me. However, I seem like I use too much money by going shopping and so on if I have ample funds in hand.     Two people called Anthony and Gloria are main characters of this book. Anthony is a handsome man and Gloria is a beautiful woman. However, each of them have bad points. He does not work and run through his parents' fortune. Likewise, she is selfish and always act as her pleases due to her beauty. They fall in love each other and then marry but they do not always have a nice time. Their married life also chanes as time goes by and many realistic problems such as money or time stand in their way. Tales of Mystery and Imagination

Do you know Edgar Allan Poe? Most students may know his name because we studied about him at American literature class last year. This time I introduce a book called ‘Tales of Mystery and Imagination’.      The book is written about darkness of people’s mind, madness, fears, and so on. It also consists of five stories and most of characters of it are out of their way. You can read ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ which is one of the most famous stories of his work. However, the work I am interested in this time was ‘ The Black Cat’. As the name of the title, a black cat appears in the book but it also cause some bad events. A man who loves animals is the main character. He always had many animals as pets and especially among them, he loved a black cat called Pluto. They have always been together and the man was more friendly and honest person at that time. However, after he married a woman, his personality gradually changed because of alcohol. As a result, he gave some violence

The Children of the New Forest

"'My dear boy,' Jacob said, 'remember your sisters and brother. The soldiers will shoot them, or burn them in the house. No,no, you must all come with me.'"  (p. 2)      If you suddenly lost your parents as you are a child, can you live independently? I could not bear up under misfortune if I were in the little one's place.      This book is written about England in 1647: King Charles is in prison, and Cromwell's men are fighting the King's men. This period is very dangerous for people living there. Four children who appear in this book lost their parents because their father was killed by the Cromwell's side. One day, they must go away from their house and they have to live with Jacob who is a forester to escape their enemies. After that, he decided to teach them how to survive in the forest while concealing their identity. Then, they grew strongly and spent the time peacefully for a while. However, some severe trials were about to ap
