This book is written about England in 1647: King Charles is in prison, and Cromwell's men are fighting the King's men. This period is very dangerous for people living there. Four children who appear in this book lost their parents because their father was killed by the Cromwell's side. One day, they must go away from their house and they have to live with Jacob who is a forester to escape their enemies. After that, he decided to teach them how to survive in the forest while concealing their identity. Then, they grew strongly and spent the time peacefully for a while. However, some severe trials were about to approach them...
This book is in the Oxford Bookworms series. It is drawn about history of England, but some illustrations help you understanding the story easily. If you have interested in history of the world, I recommend to try to read this one.

This sounds very interesting. Yes, this was the hard time for people to live, especially those people who are poor. You can enjoy the story and learn the history at the same time.
