"'What have you got there?' Regan asked her friend.
'It's half of a coin,' Frankie said. 'It's very old. There's something strange about it, too.'
'Let me see,' Jack said. He held out his hand.
'No!' Frankie said quickly. 'Don't touch it. I found it.It's mine!'" (p. 15)
If you have to go to graveyard, do you have a confidence that you are not frightened against the place or coffins? In my case, I should feel scary because I am a coward.
In this story, four children appear as main characters. They consist of two girls and two boys, and they are all members of archeology club. While a half-term holiday, they go to an old village and visit a church surrounded graveyard with their history teacher. When they walk around the ground, one girl called Frankie and one boy called Jack slide down into the black horror hole. There is a bad smell in the vault and it is very dark but she picks up a half-coin on the way to escape from deep hole. However, her personality gradually changes mad and she starts to act strangely. Does she come to be crazy or will she take well-founded action?
This book is in the Macmillan readers series. When I read the book, I thought it is a horror story at first, but it is not true. If you are interested in it, please read and check the story!
